Our Practice
A Practice Built Around the Client's Situation
Thanin Legal was established to serve clients who face pension disputes in Thailand — at the administrative level, in the Labour Court, and on appeal. The firm is small by design.

How Thanin Legal Came to Exist
The practice was founded in Bangkok by Thanin Worrawit, a former labour law adviser who spent twelve years in the public sector before entering private practice. His early career involved reviewing pension scheme disputes on behalf of government-linked bodies, and he observed that individual claimants — regardless of the merits of their position — were consistently outmatched by institutional respondents who understood the system far better.
Thanin Legal was established in response to that imbalance. The firm accepts only pension-related mandates, which allows it to concentrate expertise in a way that a general practice cannot. Clients are not managed by a rotating roster of associates; they work with the same advocate from the first appointment to the conclusion of proceedings.
The office is located in Phaya Thai, convenient to the Bangkok Labour Court and the principal administrative bodies that handle pension fund disputes under Thai law. Most client meetings take place in person, though telephone and secure written communication are available throughout an engagement.
Our Mission
What We Are Here to Do
Pension disputes carry real financial and personal consequences. A client who has received an unfavorable decision — whether from a fund administrator, an appeals committee, or a first-instance court — deserves counsel that reads their file carefully, explains the options honestly, and represents them steadily if they choose to proceed.
We do not make commitments we cannot keep. If, after reviewing a file, we believe the position is weak, we say so. If there are meaningful avenues to pursue, we pursue them with the same care and consistency at every stage.
Our Core Values
- Honest assessment before any engagement begins
- Continuity — the same advocate throughout
- Respectful, clear communication at every stage
- Transparent fee structures with no late additions
- Strict confidentiality in all client matters

Standards & Protocols
How We Conduct Our Work
The standards below are not aspirational — they describe what happens in every engagement.
Thai Bar Association Registration
All advocacy conducted by Thanin Legal is performed by advocates fully registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand. Credentials are available on request.
Written Engagement Letters
Every mandate begins with a written engagement letter setting out the scope of work, fees, and communication arrangements. Nothing begins without the client's written confirmation.
Confidentiality Protocols
Client files are held securely, with access restricted to the assigned team. No client information is discussed outside the firm without express written consent.
Deadline Tracking
Procedural deadlines in pension matters are tracked on a dedicated case calendar. Clients are notified well in advance of any filing or response deadline.
Structured Client Updates
Written updates follow every hearing or significant procedural development. The client's preferred update frequency and format are agreed at the start of the engagement.
Bilingual Capability
All advocates read and prepare documents in both Thai and English. Clients may communicate in either language, and court filings are prepared in the language required by the proceedings.
Expertise & Focus
Pension Defence Within the Thai Labour System
Thailand's labour framework — encompassing the Labour Protection Act, the Provident Fund Act, and the Social Security Act — creates layered obligations for employers and entitlements for employees. When disputes arise over pension calculations, fund disbursements, early termination of benefits, or wrongful exclusion from a scheme, the procedural routes can be difficult to navigate without counsel who works in this area day to day.
Administrative appeals to the Social Security Office or the Labour Department typically precede any court action, and the documentation required at that stage can significantly affect what is available later in Labour Court proceedings. At Thanin Legal, we treat the administrative phase with the same care as court work — because how a matter is presented early often determines how much latitude remains later.
Clients come to us at different points. Some arrive after receiving a first decision and want a measured assessment before deciding whether to appeal. Others have already begun the process and need an advocate to take over from that point forward. In either case, we begin by reading what exists, not by making assumptions about what the case requires.
