Pension defence advantages Bangkok

Why Thanin Legal

What We Offer That Others May Not

In a market where pension cases are often handled as a side offering within a generalist practice, Thanin Legal's concentrated focus makes a measurable difference to how a matter is prepared and conducted.

Six Reasons Clients Choose Our Practice

Undivided Specialisation

Pension defence is not an area we visit occasionally — it is the only work the practice accepts. That depth of focus is not available at most general law firms.

Named Advocate Throughout

The senior advocate assigned to your matter at the outset remains your lead counsel at every hearing. No handover to junior staff partway through a proceeding.

Fixed, Transparent Fees

All three service tiers carry fixed fees stated in the engagement letter. There are no hourly rate surprises, and no additional charges are applied without the client's prior written agreement.

Deadline-First Case Management

Procedural deadlines in pension matters are strict and unforgiving. We manage all timelines from day one and alert clients well before any filing or response deadline is reached.

Thai and English Capability

Files, filings, and client communication are handled in both Thai and English. We can review original Thai-language documents directly, without reliance on third-party translation.

Communication on Your Terms

We agree a communication frequency and method with each client at the start. Updates follow every substantive development, and you always know the current status of your matter.

In Depth

What Each Advantage Means in Practice

Pension Law Expertise Built Over Years

Pension defence requires an understanding of the Provident Fund Act, the Social Security Act, the Labour Protection Act, and the procedural rules of both the administrative appeals process and the Labour Court. A generalist practice may know these frameworks in outline; we work within them every day.

The practical difference is in how a file is prepared. We know which documentary gaps tend to weaken administrative appeals, which arguments have fared better at tribunal level, and where the Court of Appeal has offered useful precedent in pension-related cases.

Areas of Depth

  • Provident fund dispute representation
  • Social Security benefit appeals
  • Labour Court pension proceedings
  • Court of Appeal mandate handling
  • Employer pension obligation disputes

Client Service Standards

  • First response within one business day
  • Written update after every hearing
  • Access to the assigned advocate directly
  • Communication in preferred language
  • In-person meetings by appointment at our Phaya Thai office

Client Service That Respects the Client

Pension disputes are often stressful. The financial stakes are real, and the procedural complexity can feel overwhelming without clear guidance. Our approach is to keep the client informed at every stage — not to reassure, but because an informed client makes better decisions.

We do not leave clients to wonder what is happening with their matter. If a hearing is postponed, you will know the same day. If a decision is reached, you will receive a written explanation of what it means before we discuss next steps.

Fee Structures That Do Not Shift Mid-Engagement

Our three service tiers carry fixed prices: ฿2,100 for an initial counsel session, ฿9,500 for hearing preparation, and ฿10,200 for a full court mandate. These figures are stated in the engagement letter and do not change unless the scope of work changes — and even then, only with the client's prior written approval.

This model is deliberate. Clients facing pension disputes are already managing financial uncertainty. A legal fee that grows unpredictably adds to that pressure in a way we consider unnecessary and avoidable.

Fee Transparency Commitments

  • Fixed fee for each service tier
  • All fees stated in written engagement letter
  • No additional charges without prior written agreement
  • Payment terms agreed at the outset
  • Disbursements (if any) separately itemised

Distinctive Features

What You Will Not Find Elsewhere

The Counsel Session Model

Most legal practices require a client to commit to a retainer before offering substantive advice. Our Short Counsel Session at ฿2,100 allows a client to receive a professional assessment of their file and a clear view of available options — before deciding whether to proceed further. This is unusual in the Bangkok legal market.

Honest Case Assessment

We do not accept mandates we believe are unlikely to produce a worthwhile outcome. If after reviewing a file we think the position is weak, we say so clearly — and explain why. Clients then decide how to proceed with full information, not with optimism that has not been tested against the facts.

Administrative Phase Attention

Many clients arrive having already completed the administrative phase without legal assistance — and find that the documentation or arguments submitted at that stage limit their options in court. We offer Hearing Preparation services specifically to support clients before administrative proceedings, not just Labour Court appearances.

Phaya Thai Office Accessibility

Our office at 119 Phahonyothin Road is a short distance from the Bangkok Labour Court and the principal Social Security administrative offices. In-person consultations are the preferred format for complex matters, and the location makes them practical for most Bangkok-based clients.
